Tess grew up in Bend and it only took a single trip to make Matt fall in love with Bend too. They're excited for friends and family, especially those who haven't visited Bend before, to experience the city and its essences: friendly communities, delicious food, and beautiful nature. These, along with the Gunnels family's deep local roots, are why they've chosen to celebrate "their day" here with you.

The Ceremony

The historic church in Bend was recently renovated and has been a key feature of the downtown area since 1920. It is also special to Matt & Tess as Tess' grandparents, Don & Mary, were married there in 1969.

The Reception

McMenamins is a staple restaurant, pub, hotel, theatre, cigar room (and more) in the Pacific Northwest. More importantly, the Old St. Francis School McMenamins in downtown Bend has been a recurring setting in Matt & Tess' love story, its quirky atmosphere reminding them of themselves.

And some of Tess' family actually went to school there (*before* it was a pub)!
